ちなみにですが，2019年のミスターオリンピアのアンバサターはジェイカトラーでした．

ミスターオリンピアというボディビルディングの祭典にて，ボデイビルダーではない元プロバスケットボールの選手をアンバサターとして指名するのには色々と訳がありそうです．

今回のニュースから考えられることは，IFBBプロリーグが新たな視聴者層を獲得したいという意図があると考えられます．

NBA (バスケットボール)とは，NFL (アメリカンフットブール)，MLB (野球)，NHL (アイスホッケー)と並ぶ4大スポーツであり，その人気はNFL，MLBに次ぐという非常に規模の大きいものです．そのNBAにおける伝説的なスター選手であるシャキールオニール氏がアンバサターを務めれば，今までボディビルディングに興味がなかった視聴者層を引き込むことができると考えられます．

昨年のオリンピアのアンバサターがジェイカトラーだったことを考えてみると，今までのオリンピアのアンバサターの人選は悪いわけではないのですが，非常に保守的であり，これにより新たなビジネスチャンスを逃していた可能性は否めません．
